Clotilde Rullaud & Alexandre Saada will meet with students for a vocal-focused masterclass for singers and instrumentalists. Vocalists and instrumentalists are also welcome to attend. We would like to thank Institut Français for their support, Ankara University of Music and Fine Arts for their venue support.

In this masterclass, French singer, flautist and performer Clotilde Rullaud invites participants to explore the living, resonant nature of their own voice — as both an instrument of sound and a tool of self-expression.

Drawing from her research on bone resonance, vocal traditions from around the world, and contemporary improvisation, Clotilde guides singers to a deeper awareness of their spoken and singing voices, helping them develop freedom, confidence, and presence.As she likes to say: “It is because I resonate that the Other resonates in turn.”

Accompanied by pianist Alexandre Saada, the workshop will offer both collective explorations and individual guidance. Participants are invited to bring one song or piece (with its score or lyrics) that they wish to work on or deepen during the session.

The masterclass will include:

• Awareness and discovery of the vocal instrument: anatomy, breath, muscular engagement.
• Breathing techniques and activation of the body’s different diaphragms.
• Exploration of vocal resonators and bone vibration.
• Listening through resonance: refining the musical ear via harmonic perception.
• Practical work on individual pieces with piano accompaniment.
