The Dutch trio pushes the boundaries of jazz, improvisational music and makam music, creating a unique approach that they themselves describe as “Mediterranean avant-garde”. We would like to thank the Embassy of the Netherlands Pastavilla and Last Penny for their support.

AVA Trio, founded in 2015 in Groningen, Netherlands, is one of the pioneering groups of Mediterranean jazz, consisting of Giuseppe Doronzo on baritone saxophone, Esat Ekincioğlu on double bass and Pino Basile on percussion and euphonium.  

With more than 150 concerts in China and Europe, 4 full-length albums, the band is going after the sounds of ancient civilizations and will be performing their Grand Turkey Tour on November 21 - December 8.
