Wonju Lee Quintet offers the audience Bebop, Modern and Latin jazz, and their compositions as a part of the 26th International Ankara Jazz Festival. We’d like you to isten to this new sound of Jazz of Ankara. We appreciate Korean Cultural Center in Türkiye and Last Penny Club for their support.

Born in Seoul in 1980, Wonju Lee started taking piano and music lessons from his mother, whose a choirmaster, at the age of five. During his highschool years, he took trumpet lessons from Myungkyu Kang, whose a trumpet artist at Inchon Philharmonic Orchestra. Later he also took lessons from classical jazz and trumpet artists such as; Gihae Kim, Munsang Jung, Jeongdeok Kim, Hikmet Altunbaşlıer, and Erden Bilgen. Moving to Türkiye in 2012, Wonju Lee finished his education in piano and harmony at Erciyes University Faculty of Fine Arts. Participating at the 32nd Akbank Jazz Festival with his quartet and quintet, Wonju Lee keeps taking the stage at different jazz joints in Istanbul and Ankara.
