About: International Ankara Jazz Festival

METU Jazz Days starts in 1996 turns into an International Ankara Jazz Festival. Festival plays a key role to promote art and cultural life of Ankara. It starts in April 30 - International Jazz Day and continues until first week of May. Museums, parks, concert halls, university campuses, art galleries and many more will be the venues of festival. The festival program offers day and nighttime events from exhibitions to talks, jam sessions, club performances designed with a theme of the year. Artist applications collect into festival pool and decided by the board members of festival and society due to that year’s main subject. This process starts beginning of October until end of December. Republic of Turkey of Ministry of Culture & Tourism, municipalities, universities, embassies and private sector representatives give huge support to the festival each year. As a Jazz Society of Turkey our aim is to expose jazz between cultures.
